Description

The Department of Campus Recreation is seeking Penn State students to work as Lead Customer Service Representatives. This is a student position responsible for helping train and supervise customer service representatives, for creating the “first impression” for Campus Recreation facilities and for monitoring and controlling access to Campus Recreation facilities. Will perform sales transactions, program registrations, and equipment check-out. Assists with building security and guest sign-in, and provides participants with information on Campus Recreation program areas or directs them to the appropriate staff. Attends staff meetings, and maintains professionalism at all times, either while assisting members or attending to other work tasks. Customer Service Representatives must be Penn State University students and possess the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with excellent interpersonal skills. Must be a team player, willing to cover or trade shifts when necessary. Ability to recognize and identify unruly patrons or unsafe behaviors. Must be able to work days, evenings, and weekends as necessary. Familiarity with cash handling/sales procedures is required. First Aid/CPR/AED certification required. Positions are available year-round. Applications will be kept on file through July 31, 2018 and will be reviewed as positions become available. Preference is given to work study recipients. Campus Recreation is a department within Student Affairs that provides fitness, wellness, and recreational programs to the campus community through the operation and administration of the new expanded and renovated 200,000 sf Intramural Building, the McCoy Natatorium, the 700-acre Stone Valley Outdoor Recreation Area, a Tennis Center including six clay courts and four indoor courts, the White Building, Adventure Recreation, Aquatics, Club Sports, Fitness and Wellness Programs, and Intramural Sports.
