The Department of Campus Recreation is seeking Facility Supervisors for Stone Valley Recreation Area. Under direction of the Assistant Director of Stone Valley, Facility Supervisors are considered an extension of facility management. Individuals will also provide coverage during overnight hours, and when needed for special events that go beyond normal operational hours. In addition to performing the tasks of a Facility Attendant, the Facility Supervisor helps ensure policies and procedures for Campus Recreation facilities are enforced in a fair and consistent manner, including when guests are staying overnight in the cabins. Main functions of this position include: Patrolling rental areas; Facilitating late check-ins; Responding to on-site emergencies which may occur. Facility Supervisors must attend staff meetings, and maintain professionalism at all times, either while assisting guests, working with staff across facility areas or attending to other work tasks. Hiring preference will be given to Penn State University students. Facility Supervisors must possess the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to respond appropriately to situations without the immediate availability of a supervisor. Must be a team player, willing to cover or trade shifts when necessary. Ability to recognize, identify, and address unruly patrons or unsafe behaviors. Must be able to work days, evenings, and weekends as necessary. CPR/First Aid/AED certification preferred. Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds with or without accommodation. Positions are mostly seasonal in nature with the bulk of the hours available in the Spring, Summer, and Fall. Campus Recreation is a department within Student Affairs that provides fitness, wellness, and recreational programs to the campus community through the operation and administration of the new expanded and renovated 200,000 sf Intramural Building, the McCoy Natatorium, the 700-acre Stone Valley Outdoor Recreation Area, a Tennis Center including six clay courts and four indoor courts, the White Building, Adventure Recreation, Aquatics, Club Sports, Fitness and Wellness Programs, and Intramural Sports.
