The Office of Student Engagement and Leadership (SEAL) in the Division of Student Affairs oversees Campus-wide Programming, Service and Civic initiatives (such as Alternative Spring Break and Discover Service Week), Residence Life, New Student Orientation, New Student Welcome, Student Organizations, Leadership Development, Lectures Series, Contracts, and Off-Campus Housing. This is a fast-paced, ever-changing environment where initiative and teamwork are critical. We are looking to hire student workers to assist with the daily functions of our office at the Lares Information Desk and Intersection for Fall 2018. Responsibilities include daily operation of SEAL social media (Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook), managing campus-wide bulletin boards, posting the Toilet paper advertisement, monitoring balloons station, phone calls, guest relations, event ticket sales, and food orders. Additionally, student workers will enforce the code of conduct in the Lares Intersection, check students into the space, manage the TV sign-out, and assist with event operations and leadership training. This position reports to the Administrative Assistant for the office of Student Engagement and Leadership. Maximum of 20 hours per week. Successful candidates will have a proven record of accomplishment of reliability given the nature of this position and its front desk staffing requirements. Customer service skills and a strong work ethic as well as the ability to take initiative and work as a team are essential. Please note this position will require evening availability through 8:00 p.m. and some weekend hours 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Position open to current Penn State Abington undergraduate students only.
