Description

The Programming Associate provides a wide variety of opportunities for students to learn and master different types of event planning. Skills needed: Experience with Office Suite and an understanding of Adobe suites or the willing to learn; strong written and verbal communications skills, public speaking skills, flexible, good with logistics, dependable, takes initiative and completes projects in a timely manner, professional and detail oriented with Office Suite and other computer mediums. Daily duties: Responsible for support on programs hosted by the Student Engagement and Leadership. Responsible for fully coordinating programs such as Spring Fest. Assisting in gathering engagement of the student body. This position will be responsible for producing publications and transition documents as well as office functions. Additional Duties: Serve as additional coverage at the Lares Information Desk, Intersection, and other spaces as needed. Assist in compiling evaluations and data on student life programs as well as assist in social media. If looking to gain Internship Credit Internship Overview: To fulfill the Corporate Communication internship requirement: Students should be at least 6th semester standing. Must have completed a 400 level course. It is recommended that at least 1 Corporate Communication course be completed prior to the internship, (such as CC 401, 402 or 403W), but it is not a requirement. The internship requires completion of at least 200 hours during the semester. The internship needs to have a strong element of writing. The writing tasks can vary according to the position, but students need to submit a portfolio of writing samples as a major part of their grade. Internship Credit may be a possibility. Preference is given to a student that is looking for a full year position.
