Description

The Penn State Mont Alto athletic department is looking for student workers for the following positions: MAC Front Desk/Fitness Center Monitor: The Front Desk/Fitness Center Monitor will provide clerical assistance to the athletic department staff and coaches. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: monitor access to and from the building, provide customer service to patrons, check PSU identification cards for equipment use, maintain equipment in Fitness Center, ensure patrons are adhering to Fitness Center policies, and assist with event preparation and other duties as assigned. Game Day Management Staff/Sports Information Game Day Assistant: The Game Day Management staff assists with the overall game day operation of the following varsity sports: soccer, volleyball, wrestling, basketball, baseball and softball. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: game clock, scoreboard operation, ball chasers, penalty box supervision, field preparation, set-up and breakdown. Job Description-Sports Information Game Day Assistant: Students will help with game-day responsibilities of the Sports Information Director. These duties include but are not limited to, photography, filming, public address announcing, statistical spotting and recording, scoreboard operation, press release writing, and assisting game management staff with event set-up and breakdown. Intramural Student Worker: Students will be responsible for helping with intramural sports tournament set-up and breakdown, officiating games, and helping with other programming as needed. Athletic Trainer Student Assistant: Student assistants will primarily work in the afternoon/evening hours, assisting the certified athletic trainer (ATC) in the training room, during practices and home athletic events, and in the Fitness Center. Hours may vary from 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. seven days a week. Positions are open to current Penn State Mont Alto students who are eligible for Federal Work Study (FWS). Job Qualifications: Students need to be in good standing and willingness to work flexible hours; especially on weeknights and weekends during home athletic events. Students interested in game day management/sports information game day assistant positions are expected to arrive at least 45 minutes prior to the event; students interested in helping with intramurals should have knowledge of sports rules and previous experience in officiating is helpful, but not required; students interested in the Athletic Trainer Student Assistant position are encouraged to have CPR and First Aid certifications. More specific job responsibilities will be outlined during the interview.
