Description

Penn State Brandywine is seeking work-study students for its Admissions Office during the Fall, 2018 and Spring, 2019 semesters. This position is part-time, 8-20 hours per week. Available work hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Meet and greet the public (campus visitors, prospective students/families, staff and faculty) in the Admissions Office, answer and make telephone calls during regular office hours, and direct/escort visitors to other offices on campus. The person in this position may also be responsible for taking prospective students and families on campus tours, including, and attending trainings to become a tour guide. Support administrative duties (maintain bulletin boards/literature racks, filing, data entry into the student prospect database, bulk mailings, assist with the preparation for on-campus events, stuffing envelopes, making folders, delivering messages, and performing other general office duties as assigned). Successful candidates should be enthusiastic about Penn State and will have excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills, be reliable, and work independently and with initiative. The ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information, a desire to provide outstanding customer service, and an ability to learn and understand new processes and procedures and apply them to daily responsibilities is preferred. Must be able to attend to detail and have good keyboarding skills; computer literacy helpful, but not necessary.
