Description

The Department of Campus Recreation is seeking Penn State students to fill the position of Administrative Assistant for the Aquatics program. Campus Recreation is a department within Student Affairs that provides fitness, wellness, and recreational programs to the campus community through the operation and administration of the new expanded and renovated 200,000 sf Intramural Building, the McCoy Natatorium, the 700-acre Stone Valley Outdoor Recreation Area, a Tennis Center including six clay courts and four indoor courts, the White Building, Outdoor Adventures, Aquatics, Club Sports, Fitness and Wellness Programs, and Intramural Sports. An Administrative Assistant assists with the management of daily area administrative needs such as maintaining office filing, logging user data, research/bench-marking, processing paperwork, and complete special assignments within the assigned work unit. Applicants must possess the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and should have excellent interpersonal skills. Administrative Assistants are expected to respectfully manage disagreements and model positive rapport with teammates, members, and guests (including in online communities), arrive on time for all assigned shifts or secure appropriate coverage, maintain regular and frequent communication with supervisory team, the ability to interact with diverse groups through a variety of situations. Personally, and professionally, Administrative Assistants are expected to attend and participate in all training`s and meetings within employee group and department wide, be receptive to professional and personal development, give and receive feedback, balance time commitments, recognize limitations and work to improve, and function as a contributing member of the Penn State Campus Recreation team. All Campus Recreation employees are expected to attend Fall Kick-Off Training`s starting August 23, 2019.
