We are seeking to hire undergraduate students who have successfully completed Math 21 to fill Learning Assistant positions for the spring 2020 semester. Learning Assistants work closely with instructors to provide challenging and meaningful learning experiences for students enrolled in the course. They are responsible for assisting with in-class activities, such as assisting with class assigned problems (completed problems are provided prior to class). The Learning Assistant will help students learn how to solve problems. Emphasis will be placed on showing students how to learn. They may also be eligible to tutor in the Learning Center and perform other learning-focused responsibilities. To be considered for a position, the applicant must have received a B+ or higher in the course and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. The successful applicant’s schedule must be open during the class meeting time, approximately three hours per week. Applicants are eligible for this paid position if they are Penn State student and have completed Math 21. Students who have a desire to help others learn and have Math 21 background are encouraged to apply. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the need is met.
