The Black School of Business at Penn State Behrend is currently seeking two student Research Assistants to lead advocacy efforts for financial literacy in our local community. Duties include: Design and update pre- and post-assessment surveys for CFA societies that replicate efforts under a partnership with CFA Society Pittsburgh; manage communication and reminders to teachers/classrooms participating in studies to ensure maximum participation in pre and post-surveys; manage data collection efforts and excel spreadsheet applications related to data coding for use in statistical analysis for analysis in statistical packages including SAS; analyze and write up preliminary research findings based on statistical output; report individual school feedback to participating teachers/classrooms on program success; create appropriate marketing materials to promote outreach efforts; coordinate and organize financial literacy presentations; provide collateral and support for financial literacy teams conducting presentations, recruit and coordinate student database of volunteers at participating universities in association with the CFA Society Pittsburgh; create and maintain a website that presents and shares research results/data (with appropriate school/teacher privacy, etc.); present financial literacy talks at 3-5 high schools annually and serve on the CFA Society Pittsburgh financial literacy committee. This position is for the Spring 2020 semester with opportunities to extend to the Summer and Fall 2020 term. This position would be an exciting opportunity for students in the finance major. The candidate must be able to commit 10 hours per week to this position.
