The Lee R. Glatfelter Library at Penn State York campus is seeking qualified applicants for part-time employment during the current academic year. The applicant will provide circulation support including checking materials in and out to patrons, renewals, and placing patron requests for materials. Duties include shelving materials, organizing incoming and outgoing materials, answering telephones, greeting patrons, and providing quality customer service according to their needs. The applicant will assist patrons seeking basic research information and materials using the library`s online catalog and databases. Applicants may also be asked to collaborate with staff on public relations, outreach, and marketing projects/displays. Other long and short term projects will be assigned in the areas of acquisitions, cataloging, serials, and collections maintenance. Some weekend and evening hours are required throughout the semester. Keyboarding, writing, verbal communication skills, and basic computer skills are preferred. Attention to detail, self-motivation, and the ability to follow multi-step directions are a must. This is a customer service based position working with the public.
