The Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) office at Penn State Behrend has a new opening for a student office assistant. The student assistant will provide support to the DAR office by assisting with projects and events benefiting the Behrend campus. This position offers real-world experience in a professional office setting with a focus on philanthropy. In addition to building professional relationships and valuable work experience, the student will gain an understanding of philanthropy and its direct impact on the Behrend community through scholarships, buildings, technology, program funding, research, etc. while also learning how current students play an important role to the University as future alumni. Position Functions: Assist with event planning; Communicate with donors and alumni regarding upcoming events; Assist with general research and data entry for annual donor reports; Writing gift acknowledgements; Provide social media and e-communications support for DAR staff; and other duties as assigned. Position Requirements: Punctual, dependable, ability to provide meticulous detail and to maintain confidentiality; possess a professional demeanor; strong oral and written communication skills; basic social media competency; interest in learning about fundraising, including donor relations and donor appreciation; have an enthusiastic and positive attitude; enjoy working in a team environment; enjoy meeting and speaking with new people.
