Description

The Information Technology (IT) Services Office at Penn State Wilkes-Barre has several part-time openings for students who have been granted a Federal Work-Study Award. To be considered for this position, you must be a full-time Penn State Wilkes-Barre student in good academic and conduct standing. Successful applicants require no experience and are expected to provide excellent customer service to assist students, faculty, and staff with technical problems at the IT Help Desk. Typical job expectations include assisting with setting up Wi-Fi and email on personal devices, answering basic questions regarding Penn State IT services, offering basic tech support in person and over the phone, and setting up equipment for video-conference classes and special events. Training on Helpdesk processes and the Service-Now trouble ticket system will be provided. Day and evening hours are available. Students majoring in Information Science and Technology (IST) and other technology-related majors are highly encouraged to apply, but this is not a requirement; students in all majors are welcome and encouraged to apply.
