Description

The Department of Campus Recreation is seeking Penn State students to work part-time as an Office Assistant at the Intramural Building. The responsibilities of an Office Assistant include: greeting customers; answering phone, voicemail and directing to the correct person; logging calls, voicemails and visitors; checking copier supply levels, replenishing when necessary and informing supervisor when copier supplies are low; sorting and distributing mail; completing special assignments as requested. Responsible for greeting customers and providing exceptional customer service, including providing information on Campus Recreation program areas or directing customers to appropriate staff when necessary. Office Assistants must be Penn State students and possess the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with excellent interpersonal skills. The hours of this position vary but will be during the hours of Monday through Friday between 8:00am – 5:00pm. Must be a team player, willing to cover or trade shifts when necessary. The ability to foster a positive climate among a diverse group of staff, student employees and participants is essential. Positions are available year-round. Campus Recreation is a department within Student Affairs that provides fitness, wellness, and recreational programs to the campus community through the operation and administration of the newly expanded and renovated 200,000 sq ft Intramural Building, the McCoy Natatorium, the 700-acre Stone Valley Recreation Area, a Tennis Center including six clay courts and four indoor courts, the White Building, Adventure Recreation, Aquatics, Club Sports, Fitness and Wellness Programs, and Intramural Sports.
